Avalina, a new long-term care community under construction in Sunrise, will offer assisted living and memory care services along with resort-style amenities – but at a lower price point than many similar communities in South Florida.

Located at 3003 N. University Drive and under development by Miami-based Panther Management Services, the project is taking the place of a former Hilton hotel. When complete, the six-story building will feature 167 assisted living and 27 memory care units with studio and one-bedroom floor plans that include kitchenettes with granite countertops, European-style bathroom fixtures, individually controlled air conditioning, window coverings and wireless high-speed Internet. Many apartments have balconies.

Avalina’s amenities include multiple dining venues, a fitness center, salon and spa, movie theater, library, art studio, event center and meeting and game rooms. Outside, there’s a landscaped courtyard, heated pool and walking paths. Residents may partake of numerous social, educational and spiritual programs and events.

Rates start at $2,800 per month, which includes meals, 24-hour health monitoring and wellness support services, transportation, housekeeping, laundry and linen services, entertainment and social programs and utilities. The project will be managed by Solvere Living and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2021. Contact: 954-835-4800,
