The Palace Group unveiled an 8,000-square-foot information center last month for The Palace at Weston, a $130 million project that will, when completed in fall 2020, offer independent, assisted living and memory care residences for older adults.
The information center, at Pointe West Commerce Center, 15951 SW 41st St., Davie, was designed to emulate the luxury of The Palace, the developer says, with crystal chandeliers, a trompe l’oeil sky ceiling, inlaid marble flooring and furnishings inspired by fine European hotels. The center also includes two furnished models, complete with kitchens with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, custom closets and balconies.
The four-story, Mediterranean-style Palace, under development on 7.5 acres at 16025 Emerald Estates Drive in Weston, will offer a continuum of care for its residents, with three distinct levels of care: independent living, assisted living and memory care. It’s next door to The Palms, an active-adult condominium development also developed by The Palace Group, and it’s one mile from Cleveland Clinic Florida’s medical campus.
The 130 one- and two-bedroom independent living units will offer “Ritz-Carlton” style public areas, an elegant dining room, state-of-the-art fitness center, a piano bar, theater, library and computer center.
The 144 one- and two-bedroom assisted living units are for residents needing light to moderate assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, etc.). Medical and medication supervision is available, as is a wellness center with a physical therapy department, Cleveland Clinic doctors’ office, 24/7 nurses and nursing assistants.
The memory care building will have 46 beds and is geared for more personalized care. There will be a secured outdoor garden with walking path, as well as a multi-sensory room for relaxation and aromatherapy.
Monthly fees start at $4,950 for independent living, $6,500 for assisted living and $7,250 for memory care. Entertainment and social activities, gourmet dining with wine, security, maintenance, transportation, housekeeping and utilities are included in the monthly fee.
“We want people to have a wealth of choices and new experiences,” says Adam Rosenblum, vice president of sales and marketing at The Palace Group in Miami. “At a Palace community, a mom may tell her daughter she’s belly-dancing or learning to play the piano. Each day is like living aboard a luxurious cruise ship. There are activities that take place every day, morning into night, planned by a full-time activity department.”
The developer is hoping to meet a critical need for housing and care for older adults in the Weston area. “Twelve years ago, in 2007 when The Palace Group developed the first 55+ community in Weston – The Palms – we recognized the need for active-adult housing in Weston,” Rosenblum says. “There was a demand then, and the condominiums sold out in just nine months. Many of those residents now need a continuum of care.”
The Palace at Weston is the company’s 10th community for older adults. For more information, call 954-217-2000 or visit ThePalaceAtWeston.com.
