After an $8 million renovation at the Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale, guests can get super pampered in a new spa, completely redone with a hair salon, steam room, sauna and a high-end line of ESPA health and beauty products.
“It’s pretty amazing,” says Tatiana Lora, area communications director for Ritz-Carlton. “Now any guest can come spend the day here and be pampered from head to toe.”
The “all-encompassing” spa center offers everything from facial scrubs and massages to peels and pedicures. And the steam room is to die for.
“The pictures don’t do it justice,” Lora says.
Adding to the luxurious surroundings is the spa’s location on the seventh floor of the oceanfront hotel. Expansive beach and water views extend well beyond the 8,500-square-foot space.
The spa now offers 11 treatment rooms, including a private couple’s treatment suite and private massage areas. There are Jacuzzis on the pool deck. The fitness center is state-of-the-art with Technogym cardiovascular and strength equipment. (The gym has an incredible view of the Intracoastal Waterway.) Back inside, the all-new marble and mosaic “wet areas” include a steam room, wet room and sauna. The staff is über-attentive, and the place really does smell terrific.
Spa managers regularly redo the specials to coincide with the seasons, and there are always innovative treatments on the menu board. Some examples: the Cleansing Ceremony, which provides the same benefits as a three-day juice cleanse; the Rebalancing Citrus Spring, which offers a citrus scrub and calming stone massage; and the Biodynamic Facial, which uses products harvested based on the phases of the moon.
Beyond the spa, Lora notes other important changes made during the renovation of the Ritz-Carlton. The 24-story hotel with 192 rooms now has a new restaurant and bar, the Burklock Coast and Spirits; a transformed lobby and new retail outlets, all designed with streamlined chic-ness.
