Summertime, and the eating (and drinking) is easy. Here’s some ideas.
Sip By The Sea
What’s a summer staycation without an ocean view? On Fridays and Saturdays, the new Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach offers Clicquot on the Clock, where bottles of Veuve Clicquot Champagne will be discounted to $50 at 5 p.m. and increase $10 every hour until 8 p.m. At the same location, Fort Lauderdale Beach’s newest land and sea restaurant, Terra Mare, wants locals to enjoy its market-fresh and locally sourced appetizers on a gorgeous oceanside terrace. Bottles of wine are 50 percent off all day on Tuesdays and, from 4-7 p.m. daily, select appetizers are available for under $10 and accompanying drink specials at the bar include $5 beers and $8 wines by the glass, including Prosecco Loredan Gasparini and Ronco Blanchis Rosé.
Sip and savor amidst the ocean breezes at Lona Cocina y Tequileria, where tacos and margaritas are $2 each during Tacos, Tatts and Tequila every Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday night is Ladies Night with $5 bar appetizers and house wine, well drinks and draft beer, and you won’t want to miss the Bottomless Sunday Brunch for $35 per person from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
At 3030 Ocean at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa, enjoy an ocean view with a $4 domestic beer, $6 wine by the glass, $6 well cocktail and discounted small plates from 5-7 p.m. daily. From 5:30-7:30 p.m. daily, the oceanfront hotspot ETARU Hallandale offers specially priced drinks including Whispering Angel Rosé by the glass ($10) or bottle ($40) and light bites from the robata grill and sushi kitchen.

Eat Like It’s Summertime
Summer means looking our best and what’s better than indulging in a fabulous meal after a good workout? This summer, the Diplomat Beach Resort is hosting a Burn and Brunch experience every Saturday morning, consisting of an hour-long boot camp-style workout on the beach directed by fitness experts. After the class, participants can indulge in a lavish breakfast/brunch buffet and a complimentary glass of champagne at Chef Geoffrey Zakarian’s Point Royal. The $50 experience begins promptly at 9 a.m. and runs until 12 p.m. Reservations recommended.
Not a morning person? No worries. Every Saturday from 5-9 p.m. at The Hotel Bar, Diplomat’s chic indoor/outdoor lobby bar, offers a Sunset Sessions party with craft cocktails and live music from Latin Grammy-nominated Mr. Pauer (Toto Gonzaléz). Point Royal also offers fabulous raw-bar specials 5:30-7:30 p.m. daily, including $89 all-you-can-eat stone crabs paired with $4 beer and $7 wine and cocktails.
Boasting a wide selection of fresh, “mindfully”-sourced, all housemade menu items, Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen offers $12 and under specials daily from 4-6 p.m. Enjoy the outdoor patio with your plate of barbecue ribs, spicy crispy chicken sandwich or crispy oyster lettuce wraps, or take a seat at the bar to enjoy these dishes paired with $6 well drinks and wines by the glass or $4 beers.
Summer also means special menu items like at MOD Pizza, which will offer the Sophie Pizza — a delicious play on artichoke dip in pizza form — and the Roasted Asparagus Salad, highlighted by house-roasted asparagus and fresh carrots, now through June 24. Meat Market Palm Beach’s summer Twilight Menu features an innovative $39 three-course dinner weekdays from 5-6:30 p.m.
The brand-new Subs and Suds retro sandwich shop in Fort Lauderdale’s Riverside Park/Sailboat Bend neighborhood is fast becoming a local hangout thanks to its casual, eclectic vibe and elevated twists on signature sandwiches from U.S. cities paired with beers from the same region. Through the summer, stop by on Monday evenings for the Memphis Monday event — a BBQ pig roast with discounted Memphis-style pulled pork sandwiches with all the fixings for $8; paired beers are $3. Serving starts at 6 p.m. and stops when the food runs out.

There’s no need to fly to the French Riviera this summer, especially since you can sip Fort Lauderdale’s own Cotê d’Azur-produced Channé Rosé while dining at fine local restaurants. All summer, Channé Rosé is available for $13 a glass at Lobster Bar Sea Grille, One Door East and Valentino Cucina Italiana in Fort Lauderdale.
Patrons will enjoy 20 percent off their entire check Sunday through Thursday all summer at Josie’s Ristorante in Boynton Beach. James Beard Award-winning chef Mark Militello and Chef/Owner Sebastiano Setticasi also offer menu specials, such as $2 meatballs, half-price martinis and $2.50 meatball sliders on Mondays, $10.99 16-inch, one-topping pizzas on Mondays and Tuesdays, and $20 TGIF Summer Lobster Riot on Fridays. Josie’s also extends Happy Hour in the summer from 2-7 p.m. and 9 p.m. to midnight daily.
Greek restaurant Ouzo Bay in Boca Raton offers a summer prix fixe menu from 4-6:30 p.m. daily, which includes a soup or salad, entrée and baklava for $29 and runs through August.
At the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Sunday brunch will take place at the property’s showpiece restaurant, Kuro, and will feature 10 food stations and bottomless bubbles, mimosas and Bloody Marys for $79 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Casino’s L Bar offers a summer cocktail menu that includes “culinary influenced” libations of food combinations in a drinkable format – such as Avocado Toast: Don Julio Blanco tequila, Cointreau, fresh lemon and lime, sage, avocado and agave.
Even the summer sunshine must pause from time to time. When there’s rain in the forecast, head to the hot new Basque in West Palm Beach, where drinks and tapas are half price until the rain stops. In addition, Basque offers a happy hour Wednesday through Friday from 5-7 p.m., which includes half-price beer and sangria and a discounted specialty cocktail.
