Work in City & Shore magazines won top honors in statewide competition Jan. 23 from the Florida Press Club, “honoring the best in Florida journalism.”
Explore Florida & the Caribbean, a special travel issue published twice a year, won First Place in the Special Sections Class A category for the October 2020 issue http://digitaledition.qwinc.com/publication/?m=63081&i=677695&p=1&pre=1&ver=html5. About the issue, the judges said:
“This beautiful section reads like a love letter to all Florida’s areas, with entertaining and engaging writing, gorgeous photos and a nod to pandemic precautions as well.”
The magazine also picked up First Place for travel writing, light feature and headline writing. There were no comments from the judges in those categories, all won by City & Shore Editor in Chief Mark Gauert.
Gauert also won Third Place for commentary writing and City & Shore Art Director Anderson Greene picked up Third Place for feature page design.
