Comedian Jay Leno will return as the featured entertainer and celebrity judge at the 13th annual Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance charity car and motorcycle exhibition, Feb. 22-24 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, organizers say.
The star of Jay Leno’s Garage, and former host of The Tonight Show on NBC, will headline the Grand Gala Dinner, Live Auction & Show on Saturday night, Feb. 23; and take part Feb. 24 in an exclusive ($500 select- or $1,000 premier-seating per person) brunch; and walk the show field to greet fans and select “The Big Dog Garage Award’’ for his favorite automobile and motorcycle in the exhibition.
If you’re feeling some sense of déjà vu – deJay view? – it’s because Leno has made regular appearances at the event since its founding, including headlining the 10th anniversary edition in 2016 and appearing at many events at the 12th Concours this year with headliner Tim Allen.
The schedule for the 2019 event, a benefit for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, includes:
Friday, Feb. 22: The duPont Registry Live Hangar Party at Atlantic Aviation at the Boca Raton Airport, featuring live entertainment, gourmet food, wine and spirits. Guests will be able to peruse “exotic cars, motorcycles, extravagant boats, private jets, premier vendors and more,” organizers say.
Saturday, Feb. 23: A day of automotive seminars, “designed for the true automotive collector enthusiast,” organizers say; followed that night by a cocktail and silent auction before the Grand Gala Dinner, Live Auction & Show. In addition to Leno’s performance, the evening will also feature the presentation of the Racing Automotive Lifetime Achievement Award to Ryan Hunter-Reay; and the National Automotive Lifetime Achievement Award to Mercedes-Benz USA President & CEO, Dietmar Exler.
Sunday, Feb. 24: The all-day Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance automobile and motorcycle exhibition begins with an exclusive, private brunch and Q&A with Jay Leno and Wayne Carini, host of the Chasing Classic Cars TV series; and ends with the car and motorcycle show-field competition and awards ceremony.
“The entire Concours team is comprised of a group of over 300 volunteers who donate their time to the planning and execution of the event,” says Brian Quail, President/CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County. “In 2018, the event attracted thousands of attendees and to date has raised more than $10 million for our organization.”
