16  Family Day presented by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, part of the Third Annual Greater Fort Lauderdale Food & Wine Festival.  The event is open to children of all ages and includes kid-friendly cooking demonstrations, hands-on culinary classes, live entertainment, arts and crafts, food trucks and more.  While kids are learning cooking basics, guests 21+ can learn about wine pairings at the New York State of Wine seminars presented by Boldly, NY.  12-4 p.m. at Las Olas Oceanside Park, 3000 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale.  Free to attend, but the suggested donation for admission is a new unwrapped toy for patients at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

29  HANDY (Helping Abused Neglected Disadvantaged Youth), with the support of the Riverwalk Trust, hosts the “Library of Us” LIVE Concert Experience presented by Moss Foundation, when HANDY’s youth perform with Emmy-nominated impact artist and songwriter Alexander Star.  2 p.m. at Huizenga Park, 32 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale.  Tickets start at $10.

29 The Pegasus World Cup Championship Invitational Series, featuring the $3 million Pegasus World Cup Championship Invitational and the $1 million Pegasus World Cup Championship Turf Invitational, returns to Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach.  Ticket prices range from $79 to $1,250.

29 The Classic Rock & Roll Party, HomeSafe’s annual fundraiser, which includes dinner, an open bar, silent auction and live entertainment.  Nicko McBrain, the drummer for Iron Maiden, will serve as celebrity host.  6 p.m. at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Hollywood.  $500.  561-383-9842,


4-6  Fort Lauderdale Home Design and Remodeling Show, South Florida’s largest home design and improvement expo, featuring hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of products.  Reality-television personality Craig Conover will be the celebrity guest.  Noon to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; noon to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Broward County Convention Center, Fort Lauderdale.  $12; discounts may be available online.  305-667-9299,

Feb. 25-27 The 15th annual Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance, presented by Mercedes-Benz and AutoNation, benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, and sponsored by City & Shore magazine.  The weekend kicks off on Friday with an invitation-only Private VIP Welcome Reception at The Boca Raton.  Saturday includes the formal Grand Gala Seated Dinner, Live Auction & Comedian Standup Performance at The Boca Raton, featuring a private performance by comedian Howie Mandel.  The weekend continues on Sunday with the Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance led by Grand Marshal Wayne Carini.  Guests will experience an automotive showcase with over 200 cars and motorcycles from an array of time period.  Times, prices and venues vary.  

March 3 The 11th Annual Community Care Plan Non-Profit Awards Presented by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and hosted by 211 Broward.  The event, sponsored by City & Shore magazine, features a red carpet-style awards show and luncheon to shine the light on several Broward County non-profit organizations that strive to make a positive effect in our community.  11 a.m. at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Hollywood.  Tickets start at $80; after Feb. 10, all tickets are $100.  954-390-0493,

April 28 The Kip Hunter Marketing “Making REAL Connections” Breakfast, presented by Alan B. Levan | NSU Broward Center of Innovation and sponsored by City & Shore magazine, honoring local individuals and organizations that have contributed to the community and have helped 211 Broward provide vital services to those they serve.  7:30 a.m. at Global Grille at First Baptist Church Fort Lauderdale, 301 E. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale.  $55; $45 for CLUB 211 members.
