Jon Favreau bringing stars into ‘Chef’ kitchen

By Deborah Wilker

A sizzling cast and sexy cinematography are creating buzz for Jon Favreau’s Chef, about a fed-up L.A. gourmet who seeks redemption with a food truck. Set partially in Miami, the film opening May 9 is bursting with starpower: Robert Downey Jr., Sofia Vergara, Scarlett Johansson, Dustin Hoffman, and Favreau himself received scrumptious reviews from preview crowds who caught the premiere at SXSW in Austin. “It’s counterintuitive, but if you take time away from your career and invest it in your personal life, your career flourishes,” the writer-director told The Huffington Post. “That’s a lesson I’ve learned a decade ago. That was the real underlying message of the movie.”
