With the grand opening of a Hoffman’s Chocolate retail store Tuesday night at 920 E. Las Olas, the favorite chocolatier of Palm Beach and Martin counties has now expanded into Broward.
“Chocolate makes people happy,” says Jarett Levan, president of BBX Capital, the parent company of Hoffman’s Chocolates.
Levan’s passion for the brand and its products is contagious.
“Why candy? Why not candy?” he says. “Everybody loves giving or getting chocolate or candy, and we love providing the perfect gift to mark any kind of celebration.”
Debuting the company’s new brand identity marked by a signature overhead lighting display that spells out the word “Celebrate,” the Las Olas store offers more than 70 handmade confections, including gourmet chocolates, hand-dipped chocolate-covered pretzels, strawberries and a vast selection of distinctive gift baskets and corporate gifts. The store also offers 16 flavors of ice cream, from the classics to pumpkin, cotton candy, Moose-Tracks stellar coffee and dulce de leche cheesecake.
Hoffman’s Chocolates opened its doors nearly 40 years ago as a family-run chocolate shop in Lake Worth. Company vice president Sandra Hoffman Meltzer recalls the day her father, Paul Hoffman, decided to switch careers and open the shop. At age 11, she helped out by hand dipping chocolate.
In addition to the Las Olas store, Hoffman’s Chocolates is planning a pop-up store at The Colonnade Outlets at Sawgrass Mills and holiday kiosks at The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale and Westfield Broward Mall in Plantation. A store at The Fountains Shopping Center in Plantation is due to open in early 2015.
