Why dine at just one restaurant when you can sample foods from over 10, all in the same place?
At the “Eat Your Heart Out” event Oct. 13, benefiting the Heart Gallery of Broward County, you can do just that. The annual “fun-raiser” features gourmet creations, creative libations and live entertainment, all to raise funds to help find loving families for the hardest-to-place foster children.
“We make a huge difference in the lives of children in our county who are looking to be adopted,” said Mary Kinirons, executive director of the Heart Gallery of Broward County. “With COVID, it kind of backpedaled a bit, and we really need to get the awareness back out there. These kids are still here waiting for families, and they still need our support. This event will help keep that in the forefront of everyone’s minds – and hopefully garner people’s interest in being an adoptive parent themselves someday.”
Heart Gallery launched in 2007 as a traveling photography exhibit of foster children who were waiting to be adopted.
At this year’s event, City Furniture will be honored as “Child Advocate of the Year.” Eric Yutzy, WPLG Local 10 morning news anchor will host.
Restaurants that have signed up to participate at press time include Andy’s Live Fire Grill & Bar, Canyon, Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants, Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, Funky Buddha, Lips, Press and Grind Juicery & Coffee Bar, Season’s 52, Sweeter Days Bake Shop, Tulio’s Tacos & Tequila Bar, Wilton Creamery and The Capital Grille.
Guests will also have the opportunity to win raffle prizes, including a three-night Lago Mar stay.
Event sponsors include City & Shore magazine, Galleria Fort Lauderdale, GPR | Goodman Public Relations, Lago Mar Beach Resort & Club and OutClique magazine.
The event takes place 6-8:30 p.m. at Galleria Fort Lauderdale. Tickets are $150 and include valet parking. For tickets or more details, call 954-918-3008 or visit heartgalleryofbroward.org.
