Miami-based Lennar Corp., one of the nation’s largest homebuilders, has broken ground on Parkland Bay, a master-planned gated community in Parkland that surrounds a 178-acre lake. The project, on West Hillsboro Boulevard west of Nob Hill Road, consists of 552 three-, four- and five-bedroom single-family homes ranging from 2,900 to 8,000 square feet. Standard features include 20-by-20-inch designer porcelain tile, a home-automation system, stainless-steel appliances and granite or quartz countertops. Community amenities include a 16,000-square-foot clubhouse complete with resort-style pool, fitness center, tennis courts, tot lot, culinary arts center and entertainment pavilion. Prices range from the $500,000s to more than $1.5 million. The first residents are expected to take occupancy this coming spring.
