JULY

12, 13 and 14  Turtle Walks, an evening of sea turtle exploration. Nature permitting, participants will see a 300-pound Loggerhead sea turtle venture out of the ocean to lay her eggs. The adventure begins at 9 p.m. at the Museum of Discovery and Science with an informative session about turtles and continues to Fort Lauderdale beach, where Museum guides will lead guests to the turtles’ nesting grounds. 15  10th Annual Young At Art Teen Comic Convention, a comic con focused on teens and their creative works that features illustrations, video graphics, superheroes and original characters on display and for sale. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the museum, 751 SW 121st Ave., Davie. $14; $12 for Broward residents, seniors and children over age 1; $11, military and their families. 15-17  United Way of Broward County’s veterans initiative MISSION UNITED and Deliver the Dream hold a free Veteran Family Retreat for Broward County’s post-9/11 veterans and their families at the Duncan Conference Center, 15820 S. Military Trail, Delray Beach. The event includes recreational activities, interactive games, creative workshops, team-building exercises and more. Free; includes lodging, meals and activities. 16  The 65th All Florida Invitational, the longest-running juried art competition and exhibition in Florida, opens at the Boca Raton Museum of Art. The exhibition runs through Sept. 25 and brings together the work of five distinguished and 25 early-career Florida artists. Oct. 15  The 10th Anniversary of The Strut, a fun and festive walkathon to raise funds to support local breast cancer victims and their families. Men, women, kids –
