The Republic National Distributing Company Golf Classic, hosted by NFL Hall of Famer and Miami Dolphins great Dwight Stephenson, is set to tee off for its 26th year June 7. The annual event benefits United Community Options of South Florida, formerly known as United Cerebral Palsy.
“Hitting the greens with Dwight and his celebrity friends is something you don’t want to miss,” says David Perez, assistant director of development. “By participating, you’ll be making a huge difference to the children and adults that we serve.”
United Community Options serves more than 1,500 children and adults with developmental disabilities in South Florida. Since its inception, the tournament has raised more than $1.5 million.
Stephenson will be joined by other celebrities at the event, which includes breakfast, player gift packs, an awards luncheon, raffles and a silent auction. “You never know who may stop by,” Perez says. “Every year we have several notable celebrities that attend, and we expect the same this year.”
Registration for the Golf Classic begins at 7:30 a.m. at Delaire Country Club in Delray Beach. A shotgun start takes place at 9 a.m., with contest holes along the course.
The cost for single golfers is $325; corporate foursomes are $1,500. For information, call 305-325-9018 or visit unitedcommunityoptionssfl.org.
