ChildNet’s Annual Care for Kids Luncheon is an opportunity for the community to support the organization and its mission to protect abused, abandoned and neglected children, as well as show support for children in foster care.
“ChildNet is responsible for all of Broward County’s foster-care children, and this event provides us with the resources to make sure that they get all that we can possibly give them to make their lives as rich and full as every other child in Broward County,” says Larry Rein, ChildNet’s president and chief executive officer.
During the luncheon, ChildNet will present the Champion for Children Award to John Benz, chief executive officer of Community Care Plan, for his commitment to making the community a better place for children.
“I am honored to be recognized by ChildNet, an organization that protects our community’s most vulnerable children,” Benz says. “ChildNet provides the essential services necessary to assure the safety, permanence and stability for these children and their caregivers. I believe that we all have a role to play in providing a bright future for all children.”
The Care for Kids Luncheon supports developmental activities and items needed by thousands of children in Broward County’s foster-care system. These activities and items go beyond basic necessities and include swimming lessons, braces, sports uniforms, college tours and one-on-one tutoring.
The luncheon will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 22 at the Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina, Fort Lauderdale. Tickets are $75 and include the luncheon, program and a gift bag. Sponsorship opportunities are available. For information, call
