Beauty & The Feast Bar | Kitchen debut to benefit Mourning Family Foundation

By Rebecca Cahilly

Notable locals, the community minded and foodies alike will converge to join Alonzo Mourning at the new Beauty & The Feast Bar | Kitchen at The Atlantic Hotel & Spa in Fort Lauderdale on Feb. 26th for an exclusive dinner and cocktail party benefiting the Mourning Family Foundation.

Overlooking the ocean on the lobby level of The Atlantic Hotel & Spa, the highly anticipated Beauty & The Feast Bar | Kitchen will feature an All American but “Globally Inspired’’ menu ranging from small plates to family-style feasts. The Ocean Grille, on the hotel’s terrace, also will be unveiled this month.

“It is not often that restaurants open their doors to worthy charities at this high level of philanthropy,” says Alonzo Mourning, co-founder of the Mourning Family Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities that enhance the lives of local children and families. The Foundation currently supports over a thousand youth and families through the Overtown Youth Center and Honey Shine programs, which reach South Florida-based students aged 8 to 25.

“The children that we serve will one day be employees and owners of these types of establishments,” Mourning says. “It is always good business to be civic minded and we are grateful for this collaboration.”

Tickets are $125 per person and proceeds will benefit the Mourning Family Foundation. Seats to an exclusive Pre-Party VIP Dinner with Alonzo Mourning are available for $500 per person or $5,000 per table of 10. The VIP Dinner begins at 6:30pm and includes access to the Cocktail Party. Space is extremely limited. For more information, please call 954-567-8034.
