In an era when the selfie has become the go-to visual expression for Everyman, a new exhibition at the Boca Raton Museum of Art shows you how it’s done in the hands of an artist. Eye to I: Self Portraits from The National Portrait Gallery explores the selfie’s artistic antecedent through painting, drawing, photography and video by American artists since the beginning of the 20th century. The museum celebrates its 70th anniversary with the Smithsonian-sourced exhibition of 60 vastly diverse works by luminaries from Thomas Hart Benton to Elaine de Kooning to composer George Gershwin, who was also a painter. Eye to I opens March 24 and runs through June 14. Bocamuseum.org
